Slimming patches have only recently come on to the dieting and weight loss markets. Although patches have been used successfully in other areas, some people wonder whether it is as effective as taking the same ingredients orally, that are found in the leading brands of slimming pills, tablets and supplements.

This ‘technology’ has been called a transdermal delivery system; the ingredients filter through the skin into your body.

An advantage of a slimming patch is that it is ‘always on’ so you don’t need to remember when to take your slimming pills. It’s also slow releasing, and delivers the correct dose at all times. Finally, a patch worn under the garments is discreet, so no-one has to know you’re wearing a slimming patch.

Slimming pills, in most cases have to revolve around food and the times you eat. But with slimming patches, it’s the opposite - where meal times are now governed by the patch.

Do Slimming Patches Really Work?

There is a lot of debate as to whether a slimming patch can actually deliver enough appetite suppressing, fat blocking or fat binding ingredients into the body, to have enough of an effect to be a ‘real’ method for weight loss.

There are some truly effective slimming pills, and tablets on the market today. Some of them offer significant benefits for weight loss. But slimming patches? Are they just a fad or gimmick, designed to lure the customer into spending more money?

Currently the FDA is engaged in long and arduous battles with several of the leading slimming patch manufacturers in an effort to apply legislation and guidelines into this market.

They want to prevent the sort of ridiculous claims that are sometimes seen in the slimming pill market, with no clinical evidence to substantiate them. That can only be good for the consumer.

What Are the Side Effects of Slimming Patches?

It comes as no surprise that anything consumed or ingested carries a degree of risk. Some of the claims made by slimming patch manufacturers could make you believe that since the patch is applied on the outside of the body, it’s completely free from side-effects.

That’s not necessarily true. It is important to understand exactly what it is you are introducing into your body.

Should I Order a Slimming Patch?

It’s definitely worth a try. If you’re looking to lose weight, then a slimming patch could give you the same weight loss benefit as a slimming pill, with less hassle. It’s easier and more convenient. But do ensure you find a reputable manufacturer.
